i forgot to mention this in the tags but there are, technically, a whole bunch of timelines that GabiDen are involved in. there's a whole bunch of realities (that are all canon) so things can be a liiiiittle complicated when it comes to first dates. since on a technicality, they've had a bunch of first dates. So that made this. A little hard to answer !! But since I'm taking a break from art fight refs, I thought it'd be a good idea to tackle this question ^-^!

So, for context, this is a first date between Gabi and Denji in a scenario where they've already build a positive rapport between themselves via working at Public Safety, and nothing (too) bad has happened post Bomb Devil Arc (aka, Public Safety!Gabi and Denji in The Good Timeline 😋👍🏽)

👗 - What did they both wear?

Casual clothing! Neither Gabi nor Denji are the type to desire to get all dressed up for a date. Denji, because he isn't very acquainted with the idea; Gabi, because that's simply not something she wants to do all that often.

Denji shows up to the date with a simple shirt, jeans and jacket combo, similar to the one he wears in the Dating Denji Arc. Gabi wears a fitted turtleneck and jeans. I'd imagine she would have her hair done too, so she'd be in crochet braids too ^□^!!

💭 - What were they each thinking during the date?

Denji was definitely pretty nervous!! He'd been on dates before (at least, he thinks those outings with Reze counted as dates... Even if they didn't, he could always fall back on his date with Makima as a reference), but this was different, because it was a date with Gabi. And he really likes Gabi. He liked Makima, and he liked Reze, but something about his feelings towards Gabi felt different in a noticeable way. So he definitely wanted it to go well.

But he was also focused on having a good time!! He wanted her to like him back, to want to go on another date with him, so he did try his very best to impress Gabi; even if he didn't need to do all of that since it was Gabi herself who had asked him. His mind was split between wanting to make sure he did good on the date and internally basking in how pretty she looked and how good she smelled and how nice her voice was and how soft her hands felt and —

Gabi was also very, very nervous. Similar thought process to Denji: She wanted to impress him, to make Denji want to go on another date with her after this one (even though, again, he was already locked in even BEFORE she asked him out). She is very concerned with how she comes across as and if she is getting a Good Grade in Dating, which is something every normal person strives for. Assuredly.

Part of Gabi, a consistent, nagging part of her, was continuously worrying over if she was during the right thing during the date. She wanted to make sure Denji was enjoying himself! At the same time, though, Gabi was also letting another part of her mind wander to how happy she felt around Denji. How glad she was that she gathered the courage to ask him out. She was also letting herself get overly flustered over how Denji's hand felt in her own, and the warmth she could feel from his body due to their close proximity.

Both of them were also wondering when would be the perfect time to kiss the other. That was, like, am overarching thought the two of them had. Because. Obviously.

🤝 - Did anything happen? (Hand holding, sharing food, etc… o///o)

Hand holding happened !!! Their date consisted of a simple stroll around the city, visiting various little shops and whatnot. And when there's a city, there's crossroads. Gabi thought it'd be cute (and defo a good idea) to hold Denji's hand as they crossed the street. She slipped her hand in Denji's, intertwining their fingers and holding him firmly. And they just... never let go after crossing the street. After that instance, whenever their hands would break apart for whatever reason, they'd always find their way back to the other's hand, locking fingers again.

There was also the instance of an indirect kiss. Not on purpose, and it was only realized after it had happened. During one of their stops, Denji had spotted a froyo shop, and suggested that they go in. By suggested I most definitely mean he dragged her inside, but she went willingly!!! And that's the most important part. They both got cups with those little plastic spoons. They both got different flavors, and when Denji expressed interest in tasting Gabi's, she fed him some using her spoon. Denji immediately realized that it was like an indirect kiss, his face growing warm in contrast to the cool treat he was being fed. Gabi is slow and only realized like, ten minutes later and promptly grew flustered over it.

(I guess that also counts as sharing food but ahhh..... smiles and shrugs)

Their trip around the city ended around evening, where Denji walked Gabi home (partially because it seemed like the right thing to do; partially because Denji just wanted to make sure she got home safely, even if he was fully aware she could take care of herself). It was around this time that they were starting to wind down; still enjoying themselves, but their nerves had settled, and they were just filled with a comfortable warmth and happiness. Even when they got to Gabi's door, the both of them still lingered, not really wanting the day to be over.

When conversation had died down, and they were just standing in silence, Gabi asked if she could kiss Denji. It was a whim on her end, really, but it was still effective in flustering Denji. Not enough to get him to refuse, though. It was the first time Denji had actually been asked to be kissed rather than just having it thrown on him, and like hell was he going to let this slip by. It definitely helped that when they did kiss, nothing happened. No surprise twist, no betrayal, no negative impact. It was just him, Gabi, their lips pressed together, and the strawberry taste of her lip gloss.

So ,,, eyeah!!! Gabi and Denji ended the date with a kiss; a completely consensual, completely normal, completely pleasant kiss that left the both of them with warm faces, quick beating hearts, and a mutual promise to do this again sometime.

It's 12am and I'm sitting here debating which fanfic WIP I should work on again q-q

The two Monster High AU ones could honestly be released interchangeably so I could work on either or (I mean, Trapped In The Rain happens after BOTH of these fics in the timeline so it's not like I'm hyperspecific about chronological releases). Though the Clawdeen POV fic takes place a few months before the start of freshman year and the Frankie POV fic starts even further back, but is mainly based on their first week's experiences being in a public high school for the first time, the beginning acts almost like a prologue. Also debating whether or not it should be written in 1st person to emulate Frankie's narrations throughout the G1 films (Also kinda reminds me of Cady's narrations in Mean Girls 2003, it fits the "fish out of water" trope so well).

But the PPG fic is JUST A SMIDGE AWAY FROM THE BEST FREAKING PART FOR ME TO WRITE IN THIS PARTICULAR BATCH as if Chapters 8, 9 and 10 weren't already absolute BANGERS to work on and have at least one scene that made me go "THAT'S THE ONE DUDE I AM COOKING" y'all are not ready cause I'm sure not lol. And I literally have like 2 1/2 chapters left to write before getting to my editing drafts, and I've been dying to share what I've got and finally update the fic after...I don't even wanna know how many months. :'D Definitely over 6 at this point, I am SO SORRY.

The last thing is a super secret 4th thing (and no it's not the potential Miraculous rewrite, that's debatable on whether I'm making it as of right now but we'll see cause I still have enough ideas and interest for it, just wanna get through this long-term WIP first). I'm probably not gonna share it on the blog or my AO3 but that's only because it's a different kind of WIP (also different fandom than any of my previous works) and idk I'll just keep it at that. But I've been working on it 5+ years (even earlier than the first XXY drafts back in 2019) and my LORD do I want to just complete the mfkin first draft that I'm only like 50 scenes away from finishing bhngvfdcfgvbdcx ugh

Also I've been drawing a lot more lately so expect some MH and/or PPG art whenever I complete more than a sketch lol. I LOVED making my little title cover thing for Trapped In The Rain back in October (the perfect excuse to let my shipping brainrot go feral) & sharing my AU version of Stitched In Style Frankie art (which btw idk if I ever mentioned it but my cousin is the GOAT and bought her doll for me as a Christmas gift!!! She's hanging out in-box with my G3 dolls). Having art to go alongside chapter updates for XXY and oneshot uploads for my MH AU is something I have a lot of fun making and it's something I would like to be consistent with moving forward. I will also probably make art covers for Chs. 1-7 of XXY too because I had felt like doing it at the time of uploads but just got too busy with life stuff. Last year was awful for me besides these fics and my blog. :') Also istg I need to make that Instagram account for my art that I share here! Maybe someday, if I do I'll let y'all know.

And also since you did tip, you do jump right into the front of the line.  I’m bolding certain things so people will see, cause this is fair.  y’all paid, you get up to the front. bing bang. 

Anyway, onto the reading lol. -it’s a chonker so here we go- 

For your Tarot cards I pulled: Eight of cups in reverse, Nine of Swords in reverse, 2 of cups, The moon in reverse, Four of Pentacles in reverse and the Seven of Swords. 

Let’s begin with the cups since I pulled them first lol.  so I do think this is the signs of a relationship lasting lol.  Obviously with the 2 of cups, it’s a union.  there are two people in love, offering each other their cups.  It’s romantic, it’s passionate.  It’s very cute.  The eight of cups in reverse though, talks about someone fearing the worst.  I don’t know if this will be either one of you,  but someone in your life is going to be fearing that the relationship isn’t going to last.  they have a  fear they can’t let go of -perhaps of losing you or them?-  and I don’t see that really affecting the relationship heavily.

 We then have the Nine of Swords in reverse, and the Seven of swords.  this relationship is going to be very beneficial to each of you.  People will love seeing you two together.  You two will grow with each other and it’ll be so lovelyyy.  People will be happy that you two found each other ;o a lot of fears are going to be worked and overcome. 

I don’t know why but some of these cards are like, there’s drama coming.  Just like any relationship it’s going to have it’s ups and downs.  I don’t see this drama coming from either of you two though.  I think together you two are just going to be drawing in people who like to start shit.  It’ll be a bit annoying but you two will have clear communication lol.  I don’t really see these issues being that big and problematic. 

 The beginning of this relationship is going to be really tough lol.  The moon in reverse and the four of pentacles in reverse talk about wanting control, and being emotionally unavailable.  Obviously things do getting better once you like smooth out the edges but for awhile this is going to feel like it’s too much of a burden.  

I think in the beginning your family isn’t going to like this person.  In fact, you might not even like this person at first lmao.  but I do see, once you two really open up,  that 2 of cups will be coming in,  and you two will be more comfortable.  I do see your family warming up to them. It’s just gonna be a little tough getting there lol. 

The overall energy for this reading is the Strength in reverse. It is followed by the page of pentacles though.  So when strength is in reverse, it talks about having insecurities.  which I mean is fair in a new relationship.  neither of yall really know how to work with each other yet, and it’s still new ya know?  but the page of pentacles here tells me that work is going to be done, and it’s going to bring a lot of prosperity.  the beginning isn’t the greatest,  but it’s a beautiful ending =)

So for your first set of oracle cards,  These are nature based so they have different meanings for every card that is pulled. Right, I got medicines, Mushrooms, posions, and Herbs lol. all different plants. 

So for you, I drew : Night Light, Lemongrass, Common Sundew, and Wolfsbane.

I’m going to start off with wolfsbane lol. You two will be so protective of each other.  Which, I mean rightfully so since it seems like the beginning of this relationship is going to be a little rocky lol.  Wolfsbane is a sickass poison and is often used to ward off Werewolves lol. 

And I mean it’s going to be evident because Lemongrass is an herb that also symbolizes protection.  like you two are going to be able to go through anything and stick it out.  Which is why I think your family will eventually warm up to this person.  they’re going to become ore aware of just how caring he is for you. 

Then we have Night Light, one of the coolest mushrooms because it fucking glows in the dark.  this talks about light, revealing the truth and illumination.  I think you both are going to be the light that brings each other into a new, beautiful place.  I think with all the shit that’ll happen,  you two will become such a stronger pair.  It’s so beautiful honestly lol.

Lastly, we have Common Sundew.  This little carnivorous plant talks about struggle.  Like I said,  a lot of couples go through their ups and downs.  you two will be no exception to that.  but,  I think most of the struggles are going to come from misunderstandings.  right, cause this little guy has like this weird glue that insects mistake for like nectar or whatever its called.  and it ends up killing them, cause.. the plant...eats them... anyway.

I’m definitely getting some spring vibes.  either spring or like just as summer begins to like take it’s full colors if that makes sense.  like no later than august lol.   But anyway, this is the universe telling you not to worry.  You got this. Love is going to win out in the end.  I also think you need hear to that message of “you are good enough.”

Lastly, I drew you an angel card.  these are cool cause they give cool messages.  I don’t know if you’ll get anything out of it,  but I think they’re pretty rad. gives ya something to think about lol
